Emptying the Cooler

What's the easiest way to get rid of the extra ice in the cooler after tailgating? Leave it in the entry way and let the dog open it and eat the ice! That's our Mac! (I promise I wiped it out after he was done!)

Cereal

He was excited to give cereal a try....

...but that's as far as we've gotten.

Go Colts!

All geared up the the game!

Uh...Seriously, Mom!

TV in the Hotel

Isaac got to watch some football with Mommy and Daddy in the hotel in Missouri.

A Month in Review

Okay, so I know it's been awhile since we've last posted, but we have also had a long list of things that have kept us busy. I am going to attempt to sum up the last month in one big post and then add a few extras here and there....

So, I started back to school January 4. That week we found out that Dan's grandma has stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to her liver and she had to have surgery to remove the mass to make her more comfortable as she enjoys the time she has left with her family. So, on the 8th, Isaac made his 2nd road trip to Missouri to visit Mem in the hospital. It also happened to be my birthday and Dan's dad's birthday. We went to dinner and had a cake while we were there, but I'm told that Dan will be taking me for my birthday soon, so I'll just wait to get my birthday presents.

While we were in the hotel, Isaac became very congested and it turned into his first ear infection. Being the super mom that I am, knew that I should call the doctor on Monday, but waited until our 4 month wellness visit on Tuesday. (don't pass judgement). Luckily it was just the start and we got some antibiotics to help kick it!

Speaking of 4 month appointment...Isaac is now a hefty 15 1/2 pounds and 24 3/4 inches long. (And I'm sure that's changed in the last few weeks) I knew he was beginning to put on the pounds. Besides his ear infection, he was very healthy and doing well. The doctor gave us the all clear to start cereal. He does not like either rice or oatmeal. We continue to try, but he just puts it in his mouth for a few seconds, stares at you and then spits it out. We'll keep trying, but if he doesn't try these solids soon, he's going to eat us out of house at home.

Other things our little man has done in the last few weeks include laughing, drooling, talking to anyone or anything he sees (definitely takes after his daddy), drooling, rolling from belly to back, sucking on his fist/thumb, (did I mention drooling?) and sitting up with a little help. We think he is beginning Isaac is really deciding which toys he likes best and will stick out his pouty lip if you take them away before he is ready to be done playing. He's a busy little man and when he's had enough and ready for a nap, he will let you know! But when he wakes up, he begins to talk and tell you that he is ready to get up...not really a crier when he wakes up.

Also that week I had parent-teacher conferences, my mom's birthday and the Colts AFC South Championship Game. This last week has consisted of more craziness, more Colts Championship Game wins and lots of fun! I can't believe that this month is almost over already!

Well, I think that about sums up this month in a nut shell. Stay tuned for some pictures to go along with the saga.

Spoiled Much?

Isaac spent Saturday checking out all of his new toys. He was so excited he didn't know what to play with first! Keep in mind that this does not include his new Exersaucer, high chair, or Fridge DJ radio. Yes, you could say he's a bit spoiled!

Christmas Morning

It was so much fun to wake up Christmas morning and be able to open presents with our family of three! Isaac was pumped to see what Santa had brought. We then enjoyed cinnamon rolls and headed to the grandparents for the day. Here are a few pics of his excitement and favorite new toys. These pictures make Dan and I even more excited for when he's older and understands a little more!

Isaac is excited to open presents!

"I love to read!"

"Ooo! My first truck!"

Isaac Meets Santa

Isaac got to see Santa and ask for some new toys for Christmas. He loved it!

Cousins

Isaac got to spend some time with his cousins on Thanksgiving. It's hard to get a good one with kids full of energy!

Bella and Isaac

Bella gives Isaac a kiss. (or a head butt, but what's the difference?)

Will, Nate, and Isaac

Happy Birthday, Jen!

Jennie's birthday was the day before Thanksgiving. Happy "Larry Bird" Birthday, Jen!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a busy day for us. After spending some time with Dad, Isaac got to travel to Grampy and KayKay's for lunch. After that, we heading back up north to Grandma Missy's for dinner. He ended his day by spending the night with Grandma so Mom and Dad could go shopping on Black Friday.

The Park is Open

We now have one of the best lawns in the neighborhood thanks to a surprise by Dan's dad, Dennis, on Friday morning. I walked past the window and realized that there was a man on a lawnmower cutting our grass and raking it up. Thanks for the help!

Mornings

This last week, this is how Isaac has begun his day. How can you not smile back?

He Should Be on the Demo Video

Well, Isaac had his 2 month check-up today. He is weighing in at a whooping 11 lbs. 13 oz. and 22 1/2 inches long. His head his 15 inches. That puts him in the 50th percentile for weight and about 25th for height and head. I guess the new formula is helping pack on some pounds! I knew he was a good eater!

Along with his growth checks today, Isaac had to have "2 shots and a drink" as the doctor put it. Before she started, the nurse warned us that babies who are 2 months old do not do well with the drink. She said they usually try to spit it out, so have the pacifier handy so we could give it to him to help suck the liquid down. Well, that wasn't necessary! Isaac gobbled that medicine down without a drop to spare! We didn't even have to wipe his mouth or anything. Apparently it tasted pretty good! The nurse was so impressed, she said, "He should be the baby on the demonstration video on how to administer this. This never happens with babies this young! This is great!" Dan and I are pretty sure that as much as she bragged on him to us, she went and bragged on him to the other nurses. (At least that's what we're going to think as the proud, medicine drinking parents) As far as the shots, he wasn't a fan but did get some cool camoflauge band-aids to help!

I think the doctor's visit wore him out. He was due to eat an hour ago, but hasn't made a peep since we left the doctor. We'll just let him sleep for now. I'm sure he'll eat soon enough. Way to go today, Isaac!

Bumbo

Isaac has been holding his head up a lot on his own lately when being held. He especially likes to work his muscles when he's burping, which makes the task a little more difficult. Because of his new talents, I decided I would get out the Bumbo seat and see what he could do on his own for a few minutes. Drum roll....

Halloween

Here are a few pics from Isaac's first Halloween. Being on a Saturday, we were able to trick-or-treat to family.

Isaac even got to trick-or-treat with Bella at one stop!

A Day with Kay Kay

Thursday Kay Kay came to love and play with Isaac so that I could get some things done around the house. It was nice to have an extra set of hands. Thanks, Karen!

Takin' a Bath

Isaac is finally enjoying the bath tub. It was a little rough at first, but no problem now!

Nothin' better than chillin' in the tub!

He's How Tall?

In case you're wondering how tall Isaac is, there was a growth chart at the apple orchard. We totally plan on going back each year and getting the same picture. It just made us laugh!
